This week in Literacy, we developed our writing by describing Spring. We created our own word mats to help us write sentences about Spring and discussed the changes we notice during this season. We used our five senses to help us describe what we might see, hear, smell, feel and even taste in Spring. The children are growing in confidence when using adjectives to make their writing more interesting and are working hard to remember their core targets.
In Numeracy, we have been focusing on place value. We used concrete materials and Glasgow Count strategies to help us understand how numbers are made and how the value of digits changes depending on their place.
We have also had a key focus on learning about our rights as we work towards achieving our Gold Award this year. The children enjoyed the story Elmer and discussed how our class and school values link closely with our rights. It was lovely to see the thoughtful connections the children made during our discussions.
