It’s Term 2, and we are excited and ready to continue our learning journey. This week, we’ve been busy in the playroom exploring the story Room on the Broom. As part of our learning, we investigated forces such as push and pull, and the children thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with a variety of engaging activities.

In Literacy, we have been focusing on character description. Using the witch from Room on the Broom as our inspiration, the children described her hat in detail and created a story sequence featuring the different characters from the story. We are continuing to make progress with our tricky words and are growing in confidence when reading and recognising them.

In Numeracy, we’ve been learning about the story of 10, working with number bonds. We used concrete materials to make ten and are building fantastic number sense.

During music, we explored halving numbers through rhythm and song. We also learned that ‘forte’ means loud and ‘piano’ means quiet.

Our Primary 2 pupils took part in their Harvest Show, and what a fantastic job they did! They sang their hearts out and danced beautifully to every tune. Well done to all of them for their wonderful effort and enthusiasm.
