A fantastic week of learning

This week in Maths, we explored 2D shapes, learning to name and recognise them in our classroom and around the school. In Numeracy, we worked on subitising numbers from 0–10, building our ability to instantly recognise quantities without counting.

In Literacy, we focused on the first set of sounds: S, A, T, P, I, N. The children are becoming more confident in recognising and writing these sounds, and it’s been great to see their progress. We have  been enjoying mark making, experimenting with forming letters and expressing their ideas on paper in creative ways.

In the playroom, we’ve been learning all about journeys. The children explored different modes of transport used for travelling and loved sharing stories about journeys they’ve been on with their families.

Well done P2/1! Another fantastic week of learning.
