It\u2019s Term 2 already! Primary 1a have returned after the holidays full of energy, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn.<\/p>\n
This week, we\u2019ve been busy exploring repeating patterns using pegs, people, colours, and shapes \u2014 creating some wonderfully colourful designs!<\/p>\n
In numeracy, we\u2019ve been learning about the story of 10, working with number bonds. The children chose a number and found their partner to make a total of 10. Fantastic teamwork and number sense on display!<\/p>\n
In literacy, we\u2019ve been revising our letter sounds \u2014 please keep practising these at home too. Our story focus has been Room on the Broom<\/em>, and we\u2019ve had great fun writing descriptions of the witch and retelling the story in lots of different ways.<\/p>\n During music, our tutor helped us explore halving numbers through rhythm and song. We started with 8 actions, halved to 4, then 2, then 1 \u2014 and finished with a big \u201cBananas!\u201d to celebrate our success! We also learned that \u201cforte\u201d means loud and \u201cpiano\u201d means quiet \u2014 how clever are we? \ud83c\udfb6<\/p>\n In our playroom, we\u2019ve been learning about forces through our Room on the Broom theme \u2014 exploring push, pull, and friction. Activities included hammering pegs into pumpkins and racing cars on different surfaces.<\/p>\n A quick reminder: P.E. is on Monday and Friday<\/strong>. Please send in a P.E. kit that can stay in school during the week and go home on Fridays for washing.<\/p>\n We\u2019ve had a magical start to Term 2 and can\u2019t wait for all the learning adventures ahead!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" It\u2019s Term 2 already!
