What a busy and exciting week it has been in Primary 1A! The children have enjoyed a wide range of learning experiences, and it\u2019s been fantastic to see their enthusiasm and curiosity growing each day.<\/p>\n

In Maths, we\u2019ve been exploring 2D shapes and having lots of fun spotting them in our classroom and around the school. Circles, squares, triangles and rectangles are everywhere once you start looking! Alongside this, we\u2019ve been continuing to build our number skills up to 10 \u2013 counting forwards and backwards, forming numbers carefully, and working out which number is missing from a sequence. The children are becoming confident little mathematicians!<\/p>\n

In Literacy, we\u2019ve been focusing on the initial set of sounds: SATPIN<\/strong>. The class have been playing games and completing fun activities to help them hear and recognise these sounds at the beginning \u2013 and sometimes even at the end \u2013 of words. It\u2019s been great to see how quickly they are picking things up! Next week, we\u2019ll be introducing two new sounds.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve been excited to begin our brand new topic \u2013 Journeys<\/strong>! The children have really enjoyed sharing how they travel to school each day, from walking and cycling to coming by car or bus. It\u2019s been lovely hearing about the different ways we all get around!<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve also been talking about some of the places we\u2019ve visited on special journeys with our families \u2013 from trips to the park and the beach to exciting holidays and visits to see relatives. Everyone had brilliant ideas about where they\u2019d like to go next \u2013 from fun day trips to faraway dream destinations!<\/p>\n

As part of our topic, we\u2019ve started looking at different signs in our environment. We\u2019ve been learning to recognise the shapes of signs and talking about what they mean. This has sparked some great conversations and has helped us build our awareness of the world around us.<\/p>\n

A special highlight this week was a visit from the Evening Times photographer, who came to take our Primary 1 class photo. The children were very excited and looked so smart and happy for the camera \u2013 we\u2019re looking forward to seeing the picture in the paper soon!<\/p>\n

Well done, Primary 1A \u2013 another fantastic week of learning!<\/p>\n
