This will link in with our inter-disciplinary learning about Vikings and children will be given the opportunity to write a story in this context.<\/p>\n<p>We are continuing to read 3 times a week within our groups looking at common words and comprehension skills. We will also be working on some spelling patterns in class this term.<\/p>\n<p>Our class novel is \u2018How to be a Viking\u2019<\/p>\n<p>We are continuing to learn cursive joins for each lower-case letter.<\/p>\n<p><u>Numeracy &amp; Maths<\/u><\/p>\n<p>In numeracy we will be looking at multiplication and division strategies, using a range of concrete, pictorial and abstract approaches.<\/p>\n<p>Within maths, we are looking at fractions (which will link with our work on division) and time. This includes finding equal parts of objects and groups of numbers, organising our daily routine and reading times from 12-hour clocks.<\/p>\n<p><u>PE Days<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Our P.E days are a <strong><u>Thursday<\/u><\/strong> (in the gym hall) and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Friday <\/strong><\/span>(on the outdoor pitch). We also have P.E.E.K every second Wednesday afternoon which is active play in the playground.<\/p>\n<p>Please dress your child for P.E on these days (and for the weather) and ensure they are not wearing any jewellery.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Homework\/home learning<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We hope to send out spelling words and challenges each week as well as setting online maths challenges.
