Summary of Learning<\/u><\/p>\n

In writing this term P5b are focussing on character and setting, a chance for pupils to create their own fiction stories. The reading focus will be learning to understand the purpose of a text, comment on language features, and tell the difference between fact and opinion. We will also discuss characters, settings, and events in stories, and recognise key features of fiction texts.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
For Numeracy, P5b will be working on measurement including length, mass, perimeter, area and volume. We will learn about time intervals and be able to calculate across several hours. We will also continue to further develop our learning and understanding in calculating the four operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
This term, our IDL topic is the Commonwealth Games. We will explore how the Games began and how they have developed over time, as well as learn about the different Commonwealth countries and the sports featured in the modern Games.\u00a0 In addition, we are starting an exciting project in partnership with Glasgow Museums where with museum staff we will create artwork and learn about the different job roles and skills required to run an art gallery.<\/div>\n

We will continue to receive music tuition from Baby Strings which we are doing really well with.<\/div>\n
