We will be working on persuasive writing to convey information and describe events using flattery and bargaining to convince the reader. We will continue to work on our spelling and punctuation and look at different ways to open sentences to add interest for the reader. In reading will read a variety of text types and cover a range of reading skills to develop reading and comprehension skills. We will be developing our listening and talking skills by presenting short talks to an audience.<\/p>\n<p>Numeracy<\/p>\n<p>During term 4 we will continue to work on our number fluency with a focus on mental maths activities and working on our 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 10 times tables. Children are encouraged to practice their times tables as often as they can. In maths we will be working on time and measure and applying these to real life contexts.<\/p>\n<p>Health and Wellbeing<\/p>\n<p>Our focus is on the RSHP programme for Primary 4 and we will be following this to educate the children on human life and staying safe and happy online.<\/p>\n<p>PE Days<\/p>\n<p>Our P.E days will be Tuesday &amp; Friday. This term we will be doing athletics and will take part in running, jumping and throwing activities to develop our co-ordination and improve our physical fitness.<\/p>\n<p>Music<\/p>\n<p>The children will have a 30 minute music lesson every week working with violins, violas and cellos.<\/p>\n<p>Topic<\/p>\n<p>Glasgow\u2019s Commonwealth Games and The World Cup will be our topic focus for Term 4. The children will get the chance to use and develop a variety of skills and cover a range of curricular areas through studying these topics.<\/p>\n<p>STEM<\/p>\n<p>Children will have the opportunity to explore STEM activities through our topic and will also be learning about the Air we Breathe.<\/p>\n<p>Home Learning Help\/Websites<\/p>\n<p>We encourage you to support your child by practising their times tables and by reading with them for enjoyment.
