Snow day challenges…

What are you up to on this snow day?

Here are 5 STEM Snow day activities for P4/5. If you do any of these challenges, send them for everyone to see and I’m sure Mrs Hendry will put it up for assembly.

Stay safe everyone, and enjoy the snow!! Miss Mac 🙂

Stand by..Camera..Action

Our top secret film!

We have been busy filming for our up coming film launch in March, and today we have decided to let you in to our world of back stage here in P4/5.  We have Swara and Adam as camera person and director and Rose and Nasser as our principle actors.  We have learned lots from Kevin, our filmmaker.  he has taught us how to analysis films, all about different shots and how to use a camera and we just love it!!!

Super Movers

Here in P4/5 we have been using Super Movers.  This is from the BBC and Premier League – they have teamed up to produce little active clips to learn different things across our curriculum.

We have been enjoying learning fractions with is:

“Fractions are simple if you know where to begin
Every little fraction is a part of the same thing
They’re all part of something whole (x2)
Every little fraction is a part of something whole”

Here are a few pictures of our dancing, we are going to send some pictures away to see if the Premier League trophy can visit our classroom.

You can also try it at home suing the link:

Share your pictures with us if you are doing it at home too!!

Haiku Poems

We have been learning all about haiku poems in class this week.  We have discovered that traditional haiku are always the same, including the following features:

  • There are only three lines, totaling 17 syllables.
  • The first line is 5 syllables.
  • The second line is 7 syllables.
  • The third line is 5 syllables like the first
  • They are based upon things in nature

… So we took our new found learning  out into our playground to practise.

Circle Time…

Our Swara was today’s lucky person to receive compliments in class today.  Skipping out of class today to enjoy her fun fulfilled weekend!!

We love you Swara – thank you for being a part of our ever growing class!

Team building…

We decided to go outside for some team building as 13 of us went to make Pizzas.  We discovered that our memories are better than we thought, and we really enjoyed being outside learning.

Lakshya, “Can we come outside all the time, I like it better!”

Naomi, “We learn more outside than we do inside, its just better!”
