Everyday Maths

In our Maths, we use a wide variety concrete materials to really help us understand how numbers are made up. When we can understand what little numbers are inside bigger numbers, we can split them up to suit us and add or take away more easily. We’re also learning that if we draw pictures of how numbers are made up, it can help us solve problems. We learn lots of different strategies so that we can find favourite ones that suit our individual learning styles. It’s good to have choices in how we solve problems.
