It gives everyone the sense of being part of our school community.\u00a0 In addition it helps young people develop a pride in their appearance and helps them to recognise the importance of coming to school ready to work and learn. It also enables staff to easily identify our pupils when we are in the playground or out on activities. This helps us to keep everyone safe.<\/p>\n<p>We would appreciate it if all children attending OLR would adhere to this dress code.<\/p>\n<p>The school uniform is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Blue shirt<\/li>\n<li>School tie<\/li>\n<li>Light blue polo shirt<\/li>\n<li>Grey trousers<\/li>\n<li>Grey skirt<\/li>\n<li>School Blazer (If you wish)<\/li>\n<li>Grey jersey\/cardigan<\/li>\n<li>OLR grey hoodie<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sweatshirts, polo shirts, hoodies and blazers with the school logo are available for purchase from https:\/\/aspireacademyglasgow.com\/school\/our-lady-of-the-rosary-primary\/<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>All clothing and footwear, especially jackets, coats, jumpers\/cardigans and blazers, should be clearly labelled with the child\u2019s name please.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>PE Kit<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>It is important that pupils come prepared to learn, and for PE this requires appropriate clothing. All jewellery should be removed.\u00a0 Pupils who are not participating in PE must have a note or a medical certificate.\u00a0 Pupils who are unable to participate in practical PE should still bring their kit to allow them to assist in the lesson by refereeing, keeping scores or assisting with the distribution of equipment.\u00a0 This ensures that they are still able to take part in some way in the work of the class and do not miss out on the knowledge and understanding of the course.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There are forms of dress that are unacceptable in school, such as items of clothing which:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Potentially encourage factions (such as football colours)<\/li>\n<li>Could cause offence (such as anti-religious symbolism or political slogans)<\/li>\n<li>Could cause health and safety difficulties (such as loose fitting clothing, jewellery)<\/li>\n<li>Could cause damage to flooring<\/li>\n<li>Carry advertising particularly for alcohol or tobacco<\/li>\n<li>Could be used to inflict damage on other pupils<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Clothing &amp; Footwear Grants<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3>Who is eligible for a clothing grant?<\/h3>\n<p>Families on low incomes may be eligible to receive a School Clothing Grant award of \u00a3110 for each qualifying child.\u00a0The award is given annually to assist with the cost of purchasing essential school clothing for families who are on a qualifying benefits.<\/p>\n<p>You may be eligible for a school clothing grant if you have a child that attends a Glasgow school and you receive any of the following benefits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Housing Benefit\/ Council Tax Reduction (this is not Council Tax single person\u2019s discount or student discount)<\/li>\n<li>Universal Credit with a monthly earned income of not more than \u00a3610- please supply a copy of your most recent statement or screen print showing your \u2018pay for the period\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Income Support\/Income based Job Seeker\u2019s Allowance (JSA) or any income related element of Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)<\/li>\n<li>Child Tax Credits only (CTC) with an annual income of less than \u00a316,105<\/li>\n<li>Working Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit with an annual income of less than \u00a315,050<\/li>\n<li>Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You may also qualify for free school meals \u2013 see below for full eligibility criteria.<\/p>\n<p>New Applicants \u2013 If you have never applied for a school clothing grant before, and are not in receipt of Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction (from Glasgow City Council), please complete the online application form (available early July) and attach evidence of your benefits to support your application.<\/p>\n<p>Automatic Renewals \u2013 You will receive an automatic award if you meet either of these conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You receive Housing Benefit (all children\u2019s details must be listed on the claim)<\/li>\n<li>You receive Council Tax Reduction (note, this is not Council Tax single person\u2019s discount or Student discount)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0For more information on the clothing and footwear grants please click on the link below which will direct you to the Glasgow City Council Website \u2013\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.glasgow.gov.uk\/index.aspx?articleid=17885\">https:\/\/www.glasgow.gov.uk\/index.aspx?articleid=17885<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our school uniform is something that we are very proud of at Our Lady of the Rosary.
