Yes, every S1 pupil is linked to an S6 pupil.\u00a0 You will get the opportunity to meet them during your first few days at school, you can then chat during breaks or email each other to keep in touch.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I receive school meals in Primary School, will I get these at Notre Dame High?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Yes, if you are eligible for school meals then this information will come through to Notre Dame High when you enrol.<\/span>\u00a0 If you wish to apply for school meals, please follow the link below:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Is there a Pupil Council?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Yes, the school is split into 3 Houses:\u00a0 Iona, Melrose and Trinity.\u00a0 Every year group votes in a Representative for each House.\u00a0 You will get the opportunity to put yourself forward in the Personal<\/span>\u00a0Support<\/span>\u00a0and Social Education class.\u00a0 The Pupil Council usually meet once per month.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What clubs can I join?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

There are lots of clubs at lunchtime and after school, these will be advertised by departments around the end of August 2021.\u00a0 We try and provide clubs for everyone, these include:\u00a0 Art, Badminton, Basketball, Book Club, Chess, Choir, Creative Writing, Crosswords, Dance, Digital Games, Drama, Film making, Football, Gymnastics, Netball, Orchestra, Rugby, String Ensemble, Trampolining.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When does the school day begin and end?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

School starts at 8.45am each morning.\u00a0 Your classes begin at 8.50am.\u00a0 Mondays and Fridays \u2013 the school day ends at 2.45pm.\u00a0 Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays \u2013 you have one extra class in the afternoon and so you finish a bit later, at 3.35pm.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When is break time?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Break time is at 10.30am each morning.\u00a0 You have 15 mins to have your snack and go to the toilet and then go back to class at 10.45am.<\/span>\u00a0The Fuel<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Zone is open for you to buy a snack. They offer hot<\/span>\u00a0filled<\/span>\u00a0rolls<\/span>\u00a0(sausage, bacon, potato scone)<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>toast, cheese toastie<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0and even hot chocolate!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What time is lunch?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Lunch is 12.25pm \u2013 1.05 pm.\u00a0 S1 and S2 pupils are not allowed outside the school gates at interval or lunch.\u00a0 S3-S6 pupils can go to Byres Road to buy their lunch if they want to.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the PE Kit?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

We do not have a branded PE kit to keep the cost of uniform as affordable as possible for our families.\u00a0 We ask that pupils wear a plain white t-shirt and black joggers or leggings to PE.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Does the school have lockers?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Yes, the school has lockers for everyone who wants to have one.\u00a0 You pay \u00a318 at the beginning of S1 and receive a \u00a33 deposit back at the end of S6 when you return your key.\u00a0 If you lose your key, it costs \u00a35 to replace it.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How many subjects do I get in first year?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

In S1 and S2 you have 15 different subjects across the week<\/span>; English, Maths,<\/span>\u00a0RE,<\/span>\u00a0Modern Languages, Social Subjects, Science, Home Economics, PE, Drama, Music,\u00a0<\/span>Information Technology, Computing, Art and Design,\u00a0<\/span>Graphic Communication and Personal Support and\u00a0<\/span>S<\/span>ocial Education.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How do I get to Notre Dame High School?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

We welcome pupils from all areas of the city and beyond.\u00a0 After some consultation with pupils, we put together a list of some of the most common routes to school for you.\u00a0 Please click the hyperlinks for bus timetables.<\/p>\n

Just hop on a No 6<\/a> or 6a<\/a> that is heading towards the city centre along Great Western Road.<\/p>\n

From Knightswood<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Hop on a No 6<\/a> bus going to City Centre, get off at Botanic Gardens.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

From Drumchapel:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hop on a No 6a<\/a> bus going to City Centre, get off at Botanic Gardens.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

From Partick \/ Thornwood:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hop on a No 8 bus going to Maryhill, get off on Byres Road at The Boot\u2019s Pharmacy and the school is a short walk from there (see map).\u00a0 Walk up one more block, turn left when you see Old Salty\u2019s and The Royal Bank of Scotland.\u00a0 This road is called, Observatory Road follow this all the way up the hill, it bends round to the left, keep going to the very end of the street and you will see the school gates.<\/p>\n

From Clydebank:<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are coming from Clydebank, you can get the No 2<\/a> bus to the bottom of Byres Road. The school is about a 15-minute walk from here.\u00a0 Kelvinhall subway station is at the bottom of Byres Road, it is only one stop to Hillhead station which is on Byres Road.\u00a0 It\u2019s probably faster walking!<\/p>\n

From City Centre:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hop on a No 6 or 6a<\/a> bus going to Drumchapel or Knightswood, get off at Botanic Gardens.<\/p>\n

Walk up Horselethill Road, take second left onto Dundonald Road, walk to the next junction and you will see the school gates on the right at the top of the hill.<\/p>\n

From Dennistoun:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Hop on a No 38<\/a> bus going to Newton Mearns via City Centre and get off at the Buchanan Bus Station. From here take a short walk to the Buchanan Street subway station and get on the inner circle to Hillhead station. You then cross Byres Road to walk up the hill to Notre Dame High School.<\/p>\n

From Tollcross: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Hop on the No 61<\/a> going to Summerston via City Centre and get off at Central Station.\u00a0 From here take a short walk to St Enoch\u2019s subway station where you can take the inner circle to Hillhead station. You then cross Byres Road to walk up the hill to Notre Dame High School.<\/p>\n

From Bridgeton:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hop on the No 64<\/a> going to the City Centre. You can take the subway to Hillhead station or walk to Wilson Street to get the No 6 bus to Great Western Road.<\/p>\n

From Ibrox:<\/strong><\/p>\n

If coming from Ibrox, you can get the No 9A<\/a> on Paisley Road West to the City Centre, get off at Hope Street. \u00a0You will then need to walk to the bus stop for the No 6A going to Drumchapel, get off at Great Western Road.<\/p>\n
