John is really good with bikes, and he’s written a set of instructions for fixing a puncture – we hope you’ll find it useful!
Bike Fixer – How to Fix Punctures by John F
- Loosen the wheel with a socket set and take the wheel off.
- Take the inside tube out of the tyre.
- Fill a bath with water and pump up the tube. Put it into the water and see where the bubble is coming from.
- Cover it with your hand. Then put glue onto the tubing. Place a patch over the hole and hold it for 30 seconds so all the glue dries in.
- Leave it for a few minutes before putting it back in the tyre.
- Pump up the tube so it’s just a bit flat. Put the tyre back on the wheel.
- Put the wheel on the bike and tighten it.
- Pump it up and hope the patch doesn’t pop!
