Jura Room

Welcome to our Jura Room where we deliver a range of learning experiences that stem from children’s individual interests, cultural and seasonal events and on-going national and nursery initiatives. These include financial education, STEAM, Rights-Based learning and sustainability. Our staff team link all of our children’s learning to the Curriculum for Excellence (Education Scotland, 2010) and track your child’s progress using the Early Level Benchmarks (Education Scotland, 2017).

Our children engage in opportunities to peer review each other’s learning and consult with adults about their own learning whilst becoming successful learners, confident individuals, effective contributors and responsible citizens.

Our children visit our local community gardens weekly to attend Teeny Greenies and engage in gardening activities which encourages them to learn about sustainability and become responsible citizens. In addition, we run a forest school program which is aimed at our pre-school children.

Our Jura Room staff team are Maureen, Kimberley, Joanne, Jasmine and Nicola (full time) Steph, Amie and Ashley (part time)

We have recently developed Seesaw within this playroom to help us share your child’s learning and development with you. Your child’s keyworker will provide you with their QR code at the time of settling in.

Your child’s keyworker will be your main point of contact however if you have any questions please feel free to speak with any member of the Jura team as we work very closely together.

Arran Room

Welcome to our Arran Room, this is a busy playroom and in any one session we can have 20 children aged 2-3 years and 10 children aged 3 years.

Staff plan and implement experiences relevant to each child’s individual needs, interests and stage of development. A variety of learning happens within this age group including sensory play, heuristic, physical, science, creative, literacy and numeracy. To ensure all children reach their full potential we have set up a challenge group within this room to enhance learning opportunities for those who require more progression.

Children within this room attend weekly sessions at our local community gardens alongside our Skye room children. We have recently begun implementing Seesaw to share your child’s learning and development with you digitally, your child’s key worker will provide you with their QR code during their settling in period.

Staff based in this playroom are Marlene,Paton,Karen,Tina and Abby (full time) Mandy,Sarah,Shannon and Liz (part time)

Staff are happy to answer any questions you may have to support your child’s learning. Please do not hesitate to speak to any staff member if your child’s keyworker is not available as we are all a team.
