Alongside investigating key concepts in chemistry, you will explore current issues and developments and develop important scientific literacy and numeracy skills.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In <strong>S2<\/strong>, you will continue to explore chemistry as a discrete science. You will be taught by a subject specialist and will delve deeper into important areas of chemistry. You will learn about\u00a0<strong>The Magic of Mendeleev<\/strong> whilst exploring the periodic table, the atom, and elements and compounds. You will also investigate the properties and reactivity of <strong>Acids and Alkalis.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<strong>S3,\u00a0<\/strong> you will have chosen to specialise in chemistry. You will continue to develop an understanding of key concepts in chemistry including <strong>Rates of Reactions, Bonding in Compounds, Metals,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Acids and Bases.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Senior Phase <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In S4, you will study the following areas of Chemistry under various topics at <strong>National 3, National 4 or National 5 level.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chemical changes and Structure<\/li>\n<li>Nature\u2019s Chemistry<\/li>\n<li>Chemistry in Society<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong>Higher Chemistry<\/strong> Course develops learners\u2019 curiosity, interest and enthusiasm for chemistry in a range of contexts.
