Broad General Education
There is a strong emphasis on developing Numeracy Skills with pupils engaged with work on fractions, decimals, percentages and algebra. Pupils are set in ability groups and are continuously assessed throughout the year both formally and informally.
Elementary trigonometry, statistics and algebra and to solve problems in straightforward, but not necessarily familiar, contexts.
Circles, brackets, factorising, straight line, volumes, significant figures, percentages, sine rule, cosine rule, area of a triangle, simultaneous equations, standard deviation, quartiles, surds, indices, algebraic fractions, quadratics, trigonometric graphs and equations.
Digital learning – use apps/programs to develop mathematical skills.
Group work – working in teams to solve problems/calculations.
Visible learning – showing our working out and explaining how we got to our answers.
Life & Work
A maths dictionary for kids – use this if you are not sure what a word means.
