Administration is a growing sector which cuts across the entire economy and offers wide-ranging employment opportunities. Administrative and IT skills have extensive application not only in employment but in other walks of life.<\/p>\n

National 4\/5<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The National Courses in Administration and IT enables learners to develop skills in word-processing, spreadsheets, databases and desktop publishing software.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

P<\/span><\/span>upils will be working towards gaining a qualification in the Senior Phase. National 4 and 5 courses have distinct units that pupils must pass to gain an overall award:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Admin Practices <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/span>Communication in Admin<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/span>IT Solutions for Administrators<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/span>Added Value\/Course assessment<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Higher Administration<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Entry Requirements <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Pass<\/span><\/span> at National 5 Level<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

The Higher course consists of three units:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Administrative Theory and Practice<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/span>IT Solutions for Administrators<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/span>IT Communication in Administration<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Assessment <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The course has internal assessments which must be passed to gain an overall award. \u00a0Pupils will undertake an IT based assignment worth 70% of the marks and an external written paper worth 30% of the marks<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
