This award is SCQF Level 7 and has 16 credit points.<\/p>\n
The award has 2 distinct units which must both be achieved to receive the award.\u00a0 It is a pass or fail award.\u00a0 It has both practical and written elements.\u00a0 Candidates have the option of becoming qualified referee\u2019s on completion of this course.<\/p>\n
Unit 1:\u00a0 Laws of the game<\/p>\n
In this unit candidates will learn all of the official rules of the game set by IFAB.\u00a0 They must then sit an electronic exam regarding the rules and score at least 80% to pass.\u00a0 A maximum of 2 attempts are allowed at this test.<\/p>\n
Unit 2: Practical Refereeing<\/p>\n
In this unit candidates will be asked to pass a fitness test that is based on the official refereeing fitness test required to be a qualified Referee.\u00a0 A maximum of two attempts are allowed to pass the test.<\/p>\n
In addition, candidates must complete two official misconduct reports.\u00a0 One in headed letter format and one using the SFA template.\u00a0 \u00a0These are the reports that referees would normally complete following match incidents.<\/p>\n
Finally, candidates must complete a practical assessment.\u00a0 This will involve refereeing an 11 a-side football game for a minimum of 20 minutes.\u00a0 Candidates will be assessed by an SFA Referee on a pass or fail basis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
