It is <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">an exciting course which <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">develops a range of transferable skills including rehearsing, presenting, self-evaluation and the ability to work independently. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">This course is<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\"> only suitable for pupils who are performing on two instruments at ABRSM Grade 4 or equivalent.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\">\n<p class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Pupils will study the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">two <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">mandatory unit<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">s<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\"> and select <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">one<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\"> from the optional units.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s24\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Mandatory Unit \u2013 Music: Live Performance<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"s136\"><span class=\"s131\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s25\">Contribute to the preparation of a programme of music for a live performance.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s136\"><span class=\"s131\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s25\">Evaluate own performance of music at a short live event.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s136\"><span class=\"s131\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s25\">Participate in the performance of a programme of music at a longer live event and implement identified strategies for improvement.<\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"s3\">\n<p class=\"s3\">\n<p class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s24\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Mandatory Unit \u2013 Performing on One Instrument or Voice (SCQF 6) \u2013 See detailed unit above<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"s136\"><span class=\"s23\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s25\">Carry out an effective music practice routine.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s136\"><span class=\"s23\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s25\">Describe music chosen for performance.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s136\"><span class=\"s23\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s25\">Perform music in contrasting styles.<\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"s3\">\n<p class=\"s3\">\n<p class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s24\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Optional Unit &#8211; Performing on One Instrument or Voice (SCQF 5) \u2013 See detailed unit above<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"s136\"><span class=\"s23\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s25\">Carry out an effective music practice routine.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s136\"><span class=\"s23\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s25\">Describe music chosen for performance<\/span><span class=\"s25\">.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s136\"><span class=\"s23\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s25\">Perform music in contrasting styles<\/span><span class=\"s25\">.<\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"s3\">\n<p class=\"s3\">\n<p class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s24\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Optional Unit \u2013 Technical Support<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"s136\"><span class=\"s23\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Assemble, tune, maintain and pack a drum kit.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s136\"><span class=\"s23\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Re-string, tune, maintain and store a guitar.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s136\"><span class=\"s23\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Identify and rectify faults in musical equipment leads.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s136\"><span class=\"s23\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Describe the application of PAT testing.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"s3\">\n<p class=\"s3\">\n<p class=\"s133\"><span class=\"s24\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Assessment<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s133\"><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">The majority of assessment is practical based with written assignments and projects, where this is appropriate.
