This, in turn,\u00a0may provide opportunities for learners to reflect on, and build, their own sense of identity as residents of Scotland and the wider world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"s118\"><span class=\"s35\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Levels 4\/5<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s119\"><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">The <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s24\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Scottish Studies Award <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">provides opportunities for learners to develop their knowledge and understanding of Scotland \u2014\u00a0its people, languages (such as\u00a0Scots and Gaelic), society, culture, natural environment and heritage \u2014 and to make connections across the curriculum. The Award also provides recognition for learners who choose to make these connections by studying aspects of three subject areas in a Scottish context.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s119\"><span class=\"s35\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Entry Requirements <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s119\"><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">An interest in Scottish issues, literature and media. . <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s119\"><span class=\"s35\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Assessment<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s119\"><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Pupils must successfully complete and pass all three<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\"> units to pass the course, as well as a Scotland in Focus project.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">\u00a0 There is no final examination.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s119\"><span class=\"s35\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Progression <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s117\"><span class=\"s25\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">Scottish Studies link to a number of further areas of study such as Travel and Tourism.
