We meet at least once every term and hold events throughout the year that support the students and improve the school’s resources. For example, in the past few years we supplied the school with outdoor learning benches and seating, ran a book drive to bring \u2018new\u2019 gently used books into the classrooms and library, and donated a much-loved set of Kapla blocks to the school. We also do a lot of fundraising in order to better support our school and the kids.<\/p>\n
And that\u2019s not all! Here is a list of some of the activities we take part in throughout the year:<\/p>\n

Welcome Packs for new Primary 1 parents<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

Halloween Disco tuck shop, face painting, and temporary tattoos<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

Fundraising tombolas and bingo nights<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

Treats for the kids ahead of holidays<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

A fair for the community<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

Graduation gifts for Primary 7s and supplies for their end-of-year Fun Day<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Parent Council also provides a number of programs that improve communication between the school and parents\/carers and across the entire parent forum. For example, we run WhatsApp Groups for every year group. We provide monthly updates on our activities so that they can be included in the monthly school newsletter. We have a Parent Council-run Facebook page<\/a> that shares information about school and Parent Council activities, and a separate School Uniform Exchange Facebook page<\/a> where families can post about and find gently used school uniform. At Knightswood Primary, we\u2019re proud to wear used! We also have a Twitter account: @KnightswoodPPC.<\/p>\n
We hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) every year where members are chosen for the coming school year and the Chairperson and Treasurer provide reports of the previous year\u2019s activities. All parents and carers are notified of the meeting ahead of time and are always welcome to come along. KPPC Membership is currently capped at 18 members, but we are always looking for volunteers, too, so you don\u2019t have to become an official member to attend meetings or take part in events and activities.<\/p>\n
