{"id":635,"date":"2024-12-05T12:49:38","date_gmt":"2024-12-05T12:49:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/gc\/kingsparksecondary\/?page_id=635"},"modified":"2024-12-05T12:49:38","modified_gmt":"2024-12-05T12:49:38","slug":"believe-achieve-merits","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/gc\/kingsparksecondary\/pupils\/believe-achieve-merits\/","title":{"rendered":"Believe Achieve Merits"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>Believe Achieve Merits<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><strong>MERITS<\/strong>\u00a0will be awarded by class teachers using\u00a0<strong>Satchel: One<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Merits can be awarded for the following reasons \u2013<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Being helpful<\/li>\n<li>Being ready to learn<\/li>\n<li>Contributing to the school community<\/li>\n<li>Good uniform<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrating leadership<\/li>\n<li>Good effort<\/li>\n<li>High standard of classwork<\/li>\n<li>Showing kindness<\/li>\n<li>Good teamwork<\/li>\n<li>Improvement in learning<\/li>\n<li>Good homework<\/li>\n<li>Positive attitude to learning<\/li>\n<li>iPad ready for use<\/li>\n<li>Star of the week<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each time a merit is issued, a\u00a0<strong>HOUSE POINT<\/strong>\u00a0will also be awarded. At the end of each month, merit totals will be collated and House points awarded in the following order \u2013<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0place \u2013 20 points<\/li>\n<li>2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0place \u2013 15 points<\/li>\n<li>3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0place \u2013 10 points<\/li>\n<li>4<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0place \u2013 5 points<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These points will be collated each month along with points from the monthly Inter-House competitions and Sports Day to decide on the winner of our annual\u00a0<strong>HOUSE TROPHY<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>REWARD EVENT<\/strong>\u00a0in June.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>BADGES<\/strong>\u00a0will be awarded by class teachers using\u00a0<strong>Satchel: One<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Badges can be awarded in line with the school\u2019s\u00a0<strong>MONTHLY FOCUS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>August<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Excellent school uniform<\/li>\n<li><strong>September<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Ready to learn<\/li>\n<li><strong>October<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Excellent timekeeping<\/li>\n<li><strong>November<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Showing kindness (Children in Need focus)<\/li>\n<li><strong>December<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Excellent attendance<\/li>\n<li><strong>January<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Excellent Homework<\/li>\n<li><strong>February<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Showing respect (Purple Friday focus)<\/li>\n<li><strong>March<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Excellent Academic Achievement (Class Champion)<\/li>\n<li><strong>April<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Positive contributions in class and\/or school<\/li>\n<li><strong>May<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Positive attitude to learning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The pupils in each year group who have received most badges for the whole school focus will be entered into a\u00a0<strong>MONTHLY RAFFLE<\/strong>\u00a0to win prizes.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a\u00a0<strong>PRIZE<\/strong>\u00a0each month for a pupil in each year group from\u00a0<strong>S1<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0<strong>S6<\/strong>\u00a0based on names being picked out of the hat.<\/p>\n<p>Pupils and parents\/carers can keep track of their merits and badges on Satchel: One.
