{"id":3396,"date":"2025-12-15T13:58:09","date_gmt":"2025-12-15T13:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/gc\/kingsparksecondary\/?page_id=3396"},"modified":"2025-12-15T13:59:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-15T13:59:07","slug":"s2-course-choice","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/gc\/kingsparksecondary\/pupils\/course-choice\/s2-course-choice\/","title":{"rendered":"S2 Personalisation &amp; Choice"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>S2 Personalisation &amp; Choice<\/h1>\n<div class=\"x_WordSection1\">\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">In January 2026,<span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0our S2 Personal and Social Education programme has a specific focus on Personalisation and Choice to support pupils to make some choices for their S3 courses which will help them to focus their skills and develop their understanding of specific subject areas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">S3 is part of Curriculum for Excellence, Broad General Education so your child will still be studying each of the following curricular areas:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_WordSection2\">\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Expressive arts<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Health and wellbeing<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Languages (including English and Modern Languages)<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Mathematics<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Religious and moral education<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Sciences<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Social studies<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Technologies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_WordSection3\">\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">During PSE lessons, Principal Teachers of Pupil Support will go over each choice in detail (see presentation below) and will answer any questions that our young people may have.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"_df_book df-lite\" id=\"df_3377\"  _slug=\"s2-personalisation-choice\" data-title=\"s2-personalisation-choice\" wpoptions=\"true\" thumbtype=\"\" ><\/div><script class=\"df-shortcode-script\" nowprocket type=\"application\/javascript\">window.option_df_3377 = {\"outline\":[],\"autoEnableOutline\":\"false\",\"autoEnableThumbnail\":\"false\",\"overwritePDFOutline\":\"false\",\"direction\":\"1\",\"pageSize\":\"0\",\"pageMode\":\"1\",\"source\":\"https:\\\/\\\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\\\/gc\\\/public\\\/kingsparksecondary\\\/uploads\\\/sites\\\/11894\\\/2025\\\/12\\\/15132953\\\/S2PC2026.pdf\",\"wpOptions\":\"true\"}; if(window.DFLIP && window.DFLIP.parseBooks){window.DFLIP.parseBooks();}<\/script>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"> All S3 pupils will continue their studies in English, Maths and Health and Wellbeing (PE, RME and PSE).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Young people will make further choices at the end of S3 to choose the subjects that they will study for their National Qualifications in S4.
