E-SGOIL
e-Sgoil (which stands for e-School in Gaelic) is a national e-learning service established in 2016 in the Western Isles of Scotland. e-Sgoil focuses on live, interactive, online learning.
e-Sgoil includes a wide-ranging suite of programmes designed to complement the work of schools and support learners at all levels. These programmes include Study Support, DYW Live, Gaelic Enrichment, Dug’s Discovery Den, Scotland’s Assembly and i-Sgoil (provision for interrupted learners). For more information see: https://www.e-sgoil.com/
Senior Phase Learning Spaces provide a bank of resources, covering 25 subjects across N4 – Advanced Higher. Also included in the learning spaces are links to e-Sgoil’s Exam Mindset Guide, Study Skills learning space and Health & Wellbeing Chillspace.

Created by Heriot Watt University, Scholar is a recognised and well-established innovator in the field of high-quality online education.Â
42 complete Scholar courses cover a wide range of subjects at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher, including English, Mathematics, Modern Languages, ESOL, Computing Science, Sciences, Business Management, Geography, Music and more. Scholar courses have been specifically designed to align with the skills, knowledge and understanding outlined in the SQA course specifications.Â
Scholar content is written by educators from Scottish schools and colleges and draws on their subject-specific pedagogical experience and expertise. Scholar courses contain a rich variety of content, including animated and annotated explanations, interactive activities and formative assessments with instant feedback.Â
Why use SCHOLAR?
Scholar provides opportunities for independent learning and revising beyond the classroom. With instant feedback and motivating progress data, Scholar empowers learners to catch up on, revisit and consolidate the skills, concepts and knowledge they need to succeed in SQA courses.
Pupils can monitor their outcomes in online tests, empowering them to take ownership of their learning and address knowledge gaps or for subject mastery.
How to access Scholar:
Every S3- S6 pupil can access materials for Scholar supported courses by adding the Scholar tile to their GLOW Launchpad.  Users logging into Scholar for the first time are required to enter their Scholar username and password to link their SCHOLAR account with their school timetable/ courses being studied.
