ELEMENT
An element is substance which contains only one type of atom.

There are around 100 or so elements, and they are listed in the Periodic Table.

 3
COMPOUND OF TWO ELEMENTS
Any substance which contains more than one type of atom is called compound.

The atoms must be chemically combined in the substance.

2
MIXTURE OF ELEMENTs
If a material contains more than one type of atom, but they are not chemically combined, this called a mixture.

A key difference between a mixture and a compound is that the substances in a mixture can be separated by for example filtration.
