It can help to increase their skills, coping strategies and their overall resilience and well-being. These foundations will provide our young people with the basics to tackle their learning and improve their attainment chances in the long term.<\/p>\n<p>Hillpark embraces Nurture across the whole school. Everyone is aware of and adopts the 6 key principles of Nurture. These principles not only benefit young people most in need, but are principles that, when applied effectively, can support the social and emotional wellbeing of everyone:<\/p>\n<p>1. Children\u2019s learning is understood developmentally.<\/p>\n<p>2. The classroom offers a safe base.<\/p>\n<p>3. The Importance of nurture for the development of well-being.<\/p>\n<p>4. Language is a vital means of communication.<\/p>\n<p>5. All behaviour is communication.<\/p>\n<p>6. The importance of transitions in children\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Nurture interventions help to model a range of skills for young people including:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Appropriate interactions and problem-solving approaches<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Social confidence<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Competence<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Resilience<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Hub<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At Hillpark we are very fortunate to have a fantastic nurture room called The Hub &#8211; used every day. It is a room like no other in the school.
