Thank you very much to our leader Lucy Cunningham from the\u00a0RSPB\u00a0 for a wonderful time!<\/p>\n<p>First we did some &#8216;Worm Charming&#8217; which involved stamping our feet on the grass to encourage the worms to come to the surface. We learned that the worms think that it is raining and come up to the surface to stay moist. We even got to hold some !<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-8146\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/gc\/hillingtonprimary\/files\/2019\/05\/5-225x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-8147\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/gc\/hillingtonprimary\/files\/2019\/05\/6-225x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Next we searched for different types of mini-beasts in their habitats.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8145 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/gc\/hillingtonprimary\/files\/2019\/05\/8-300x225.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"403\" height=\"302\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We used a magnifying glass to take a\u00a0closer look at the mini-beasts and set them free back into their homes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-8148\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/gc\/hillingtonprimary\/files\/2019\/05\/10-225x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-8149\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/gc\/hillingtonprimary\/files\/2019\/05\/13-225x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lastly, we did some &#8216;Pond Dipping&#8217; and we learned that some mini-beasts like to live in the water too.
