Primary 7 transition can be an exciting time for young people but also a time of uncertainty.\u00a0Here at Hillington Primary\u00a0we aim to make the transition process as smooth as possible for all young people who will moving on to Secondary School. We work closely with secondary school\u00a0colleagues both\u00a0at our feeder high school but\u00a0also with colleagues across the city and beyond. Transition working begins with our pupils from Primary 6 and continues through to Primary 7 when the students\u00a0leave us in June to prepare them for the transfer to secondary school\u00a0.<\/p>\n
Children and young people normally transfer between the ages of 11\u00bd and 12\u00bd, so that they will have the opportunity to complete at least 4 years of secondary education.<\/p>\n
