The One Off Performances at both National 5 and Higher Level make up 50% of the Course Assessment. At both Levels pupils are required to undertake 2 performances in different activities. The Department place a huge emphasis on pupils taking leadership for their own learning and pupils are given time to work on there selected activities during class time. The Department has an ‘assess when ready’ policy and this gives pupils as much time as they need over the two years to get ready for their practical assessments. Pupils are encouraged to attend clubs within school and the Department is opened up to pupils before school, lunch times and after school in line with our Extra-Curricular Programme.
The assessment criteria for both levels can be downloaded below:

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!
TOP TIP – The more practice, the higher the practical grade! Treat this the same way you would as studying for the exam! Walking into the exam or before you send your portfolio away puts you in a really strong position for one of the upper grades!
For anyone interested there is an interesting book by Matthew Syed called Bounce! In this book he explores the power of practice in order to lead mastery and that talent is merely a myth! The road to success is driven by hard work!
