Glasgow City Council<\/a><\/p>\n<h1>Education Maintenance Allowance<\/h1>\n<p>Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) is a weekly allowance paid to help young people in education beyond the statutory school leaving age of 16.\u00a0The EMA is paid directly to young people, who qualify if they meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Household income must be under \u00a324,421 (for one dependent child in household) or \u00a326,884 (for two dependent children in household)<\/li>\n<li>Attend a Glasgow School<\/li>\n<li>Aged 16 to 19 years old<\/li>\n<li>Attend school for a minimum of 21 agreed learning hours per week<\/li>\n<li>Where appropriate, willing to participate in an approved learning agreement at school<\/li>\n<li>Where appropriate, willing to participate in an approved Activity Agreement, a tailored package of activity that has been designed around the young persons, interests, career aspirations and future skills needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can find more information about EMA and apply through the link below on the Glasgow City Council website:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.glasgow.gov.uk\/ema\">Education Maintenance Allowance &#8211;
