SCQF explained

SCQF stands for Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework. The framework allows for all different types of qualifications to be recognised against the appropriate level.

Below is a useful infographic that explains how current qualifications relate to past offerings such as Standard Grades or O Grades

At Hillhead High we offer a wide range of qualifications at a variety of different levels. As well as traditional qualifications such as National 4, 5 and Higher we also have a broad range of National Progression Awards on offer such as Photography, Hair and Beauty, Leadership and more. The SCQF Framework allows employers and further education establishments to recognise these qualifications as equivalent to National Qualifications which opens up lots more opportunities for our young people.

As well as the offerings in school we also work very closely with our local colleagues to offer a huge variety of qualifications in areas such as hospitality, construction, creative industries and more. These options are available to S6 pupils and the full range can be viewed here.

Our SCQF Ambassadors will be on hand at Parent’s Evenings and other events to hand out resources and answer any questions that you may have.
