Communication with Parents<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

At Hazelwood School we use a variety of ways to keep in touch.<\/span><\/p>\n

Open Door Policy<\/span> \u2013<\/span><\/p>\n

The senior leadership team are available <\/span>to meet with parents throughout the year. Meetings <\/span>are arranged<\/span> at a mutually convenient time. <\/span> Please either pop in to the school office or phone for an appointment. <\/span><\/p>\n

Home\/school diaries<\/span> \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n

Are used on a daily basis to ensure that there are opportunities for parents to find out what has been happening during the course of the school day. Parents are encouraged to use diaries to inform school staff of any relevant home information.<\/span><\/p>\n

Newsletters<\/span> \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n

Will be sent out on a regular basis to keep parents informed about the work of the school.<\/span><\/p>\n

Letters<\/span> \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n

Further information which requires a response may be sent out in letter form.<\/span><\/p>\n

School website\/Twitter\/Facebook<\/span> \u2013<\/span><\/p>\n

Is under further development to increase the amount of information about the school. It is a good idea to check this regularly.<\/span><\/p>\n

Text messaging<\/span> \u2013<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

You may also receive text reminders about events\/school closures etc. <\/span><\/p>\n

Meetings<\/span> \u2013<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

An annual review will take place for every pupil in order for parents, staff and other specialists to discuss progress and agree on educational targets. <\/span><\/p>\n

Parents will be notified in writing at least 2 weeks prior to the date of the review meeting. There will be other opportunities for parents to discuss their child\u2019s progress with staff at parents\u2019 meetings in terms 2 and 4.<\/span><\/p>\n

Parents are also welcome to telephone the school to discuss any issues or concerns.<\/p>\n

Parents are encouraged to contact the school on a regular basis to find out information about the curriculum and assessment. We welcome visits from parents and encourage parents to observe the teaching and learning process.<\/p>\n
