In his absence, Julie Steel, HT, is the depute child protection coordinator.<\/p>\n<p id=\"E1969\" class=\"qowt-stl-BodyText\"><span id=\"E1970\" class=\"qowt-font4-Calibri\">All education establishments and services must take positive steps to help children protect themselves by ensuring that programmers of health and personal safety are central to the curriculum and should have in place a curriculum that ensures that children have a clear understanding of the difference between appropriate and inappropriate behaviour on the part of another person, no matter who.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E1972\" class=\"qowt-stl-Normal\"><span id=\"E1973\" class=\"qowt-font4-Calibri\">As with other areas of the curriculum, you will be kept informed of the health and personal safety programme for your child\u2019s establishment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E1975\" class=\"qowt-stl-Normal\"><span id=\"E1976\" class=\"qowt-font4-Calibri\">Schools, establishments and service<\/span><span id=\"E1977\" class=\"qowt-font4-Calibri\">s<\/span><span id=\"E1978\" class=\"qowt-font4-Calibri\"> must create and maintain a positive ethos and climate which actively promotes child welfare and a safe environment <\/span><span id=\"E1979\" class=\"qowt-font4-Calibri\">by:<\/span><span id=\"E1980\" class=\"qowt-font4-Calibri\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E1982\" class=\"qowt-li-4294967294_0 qowt-list qowt-stl-Normal\"><span id=\"E1983\" class=\"qowt-font4-Calibri\">Ensuring that children are respected and listened to<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E1984\" class=\"qowt-li-4294967294_0 qowt-list qowt-stl-Normal\"><span id=\"E1985\" class=\"qowt-font4-Calibri\">Ensuring that programmes of health and personal safety are central to the curriculum<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E1986\" class=\"qowt-li-4294967294_0 qowt-list qowt-stl-Normal\"><span id=\"E1987\" class=\"qowt-font4-Calibri\">Ensuring that staff are aware of child protection issues and procedure<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E1988\" class=\"qowt-li-4294967294_0 qowt-list qowt-stl-Normal\"><span id=\"E1989\" class=\"qowt-font4-Calibri\">Establishing and maintaining close working relationships and arrangements with all other agencies to make sure that professionals collaborate effectively in protecting children<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E1991\" class=\"qowt-stl-BodyText\"><span id=\"E1992\" class=\"qowt-font4-Calibri\">Should any member of staff have concerns regarding the welfare or safety of any child\u00a0<span class=\"qowt-font4-Calibri\">they must report these concerns to the child protection coordinator<\/span><\/span><span id=\"E1992\" class=\"qowt-font4-Calibri\"><span id=\"E1994\" class=\"qowt-font4-Calibri\">, or the person deputising.
