Primary 6 December Update

December has been full of festive fun and hard work for Primary 6. We have been working hard alongside Primary 1 planning, practising and performing our school Nativity. There was lots of hard work on stage and behind the scenes to get everything ready. We hope it was an enjoyable performance- we certainly had fun!

Alongside our Nativity we still manage to squeeze in lots of hard work. We have been learning about fractions and using out STEM knowledge to create traps for our elves.

P6 also enjoyed their boxing sessions with our coaches. These were lots of fun.

Primary 6 November Update

There has been lots going on in Primary 6 this month.

In literacy, we began our persuasive writing unit. We have been using the PM writing programme to develop our writing skills, focusing on the description bubble to enhance our work. We have explored different features of persuasive text and completed our first piece of writing about why P6 should go to the zoo!

We have also been working on our film literacy, describing scenes and the characters in the Harry Potter movies.

This month in numeracy, we have completed our multiples, factors and prime numbers topic. We are now moving onto fractions, decimals and percentages where we will be exploring their relationship and how this knowledge can help us in the real world.

In maths, we have been learning about shape, symmetry and angles, extending and challenging our current understanding.

P6 have been enjoying our animal’s topic, where we have been learning about different animal habitats and adaptations. We were able to apply our learning during our visit to Edinburgh Zoo this month!
