This month in our Literacy we have been continuing to progress our way through the Jolly Phonics initial sounds programme. This month we learned ‘r’, ‘m’ and ‘d’. Primary 2’s have continued learning the phonemes and this month we have learned the ‘ar’ phoneme. We have continued to explore a variety of traditional fairytales and have been using these to sequence a story and retell the beginning, middle and end of a story. During our writing we have been exploring the description bubble and have been using this to begin to describe the characters from traditional fairytales.
This month in our Numeracy we have been learning to use a number line to help us add and subtract. Within maths, we have continued to explore measure using non-standard units. We have investigated weight and capacity.
This month we have worked hard on our Nativity show that we performed to our parents. We had great fun learning our roles and performing the songs. We also explored the Christmas story and used this to sequence the main parts of the story.
