Play Along Maths

Play Along Maths is a 6-8 week family learning programme with four different sets of cards and games from Pre 5 up to P7.  It supports the development of maths and mathematical language through playing games and having fun as a family.  The family take part in an hour long session where they choose a game to take home alongside a ‘Chat Along Card’ to emphasise maths concepts as they play.  This is a sample card and game for Pre Five families:

Play Along Maths was developed in 1994 by a Senior Teacher and Home Link Worker in Airdrie.  Glasgow City Council obtained the resources from its founders in 2019 to ensure its development and longevity, and have been working with Education Colleagues since October 2022 to refresh and relaunch the games, cards and practitioner toolkit.
