{"id":2734,"date":"2022-09-06T11:10:18","date_gmt":"2022-09-06T10:10:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/gc\/glasgowcreate\/?page_id=2082"},"modified":"2026-05-04T10:31:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-04T09:31:11","slug":"sax-ensemble","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/gc\/glasgowcreate\/city-groups\/sax-ensemble\/","title":{"rendered":"Saxophone Ensemble"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Saxophone Ensemble<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Saxophone Ensemble gives young saxophonists the chance to rehearse and perform together as part of a specialist group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who it\u2019s for<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Saxophone Ensemble is aimed at saxophonists working at Grade 3 and above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What happens<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pupils rehearse together as a saxophone ensemble, developing confidence, ensemble awareness and musical skill through group performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Where and when<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Venue:<\/strong>&nbsp;City Halls, 87 to 101 Albion Street, Glasgow, G1 1LH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rehearsal and concert dates:<\/strong>&nbsp;Thursdays &#8211; please see the calendar for dates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How progression works<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As young people develop their musical and ensemble skills, they may also audition to join the&nbsp;Big Band, the&nbsp;Concert Band,&nbsp;the Symphonic Wind Band, and ultimately&nbsp;the Glasgow Schools\u2019 Symphony Orchestra.
