New year-and new librarian<\/h2>\n

Happy 2024! <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>My name is<\/span>\u00a0M<\/span>s Barron and I\u2019m the new librarian in Castlemilk High School. I’m looking forward to meeting lots of new pupils getting to know everyone this year. I will be in school on Wednesdays and Fridays<\/strong> this term. You can visit the library during breaks and after school.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Exams<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

January is<\/span> prelim time and the library has been <\/span>very busy<\/span> with senior pupils doing exams. Good luck everyone! <\/span>Did you know <\/span>you can borrow<\/span> SQA practice papers <\/span>on your <\/span>ipad<\/span>? Search \u2018SQA<\/em>\u2019<\/a> on the <\/span>libby<\/span> app to see what subjects are available. <\/span>While the exams are on, ther<\/span>e <\/span>will be a mini mobile library<\/span> visiting<\/span> classrooms for pupils to borrow from<\/span>. <\/span>Visits will be back to normal in February.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Burns Night<\/h2>\n

January 25<\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span> is Burns Night<\/span>,<\/span> celebrat<\/span>ing<\/span> Robert Burns<\/span> and Scottish traditions <\/span>with <\/span>haggis, neeps, <\/span>tatties<\/span> and<\/span> poetry.<\/span> Why not <\/span>j<\/span>oin i<\/span>n the <\/span>celebration<\/span> of Scotland\u2019s creativity<\/span> and read a Scottish author in January?<\/span> Check out this month\u2019s burns Night collection, available <\/span>now from Glasgow Libraries<\/span>, for ideas. <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
