{"id":37,"date":"2018-11-12T09:54:08","date_gmt":"2018-11-12T09:54:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/gc\/gccleadersofearlylearning\/?page_id=37"},"modified":"2026-03-05T13:28:36","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T13:28:36","slug":"welcome-to-the-leaders-of-early-learning-resource-blog","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/gc\/gccleadersofearlylearning\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Leaders of Early Learning<\/h3>\n<h5>The Leaders of Early Learning (LELs) are a peripatetic team within Glasgow&#8217;s Early Years Quality Improvement Team.<\/h5>\n<h3><strong>Early Years Quality Improvement Team <\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Vision, Values and Aims &#8211;<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h5><strong>PURPOSE:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Ensure a high quality and inclusive early education and care for all children and families.<\/p>\n<p><strong>VISION: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An early years education that meets the needs of all Glasgow\u2019s babies, toddler\u2019s and young children, supporting them to be successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AIMS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop partnership working across Early Years to support high quality learning and teaching that leads to improved outcomes for all children and families.<\/li>\n<li>Build capacity for improvement by promoting and supporting robust self- evaluation processes involving all stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Support innovative approaches to play pedagogy and curriculum design to ensure sustainable impact.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and deliver evidence-based training for practitioners that links theory and national\/local policy with highly effective practice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>VALUES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATIONSHIPS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Description \u2013<\/strong> Recognising that strong relations, robust communications and positive collaborations are key to leading change.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practice \u2013<\/strong> Provide meaningful support for staff teams, nurturing a sense of trust and respect.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AWARENESS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Description \u2013<\/strong> Knowing and understanding the positive influence of self, others and the environment on capacity for change.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practice \u2013<\/strong> Inspire others through self-reflection and engagement in career-long professional learning, leading to data informed decision making.<\/p>\n<p><strong>INTEGRITY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Description \u2013<\/strong> Being open and honest with self and others, and remaining courageous when faced with complication and resistance to change.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practice \u2013<\/strong> See possibilities rather than barriers, focusing on social justice and high expectations for all.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SERVICE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Description \u2013<\/strong> Utilising resources, including the skills, knowledge and experience of self and others to create positive change.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practice \u2013<\/strong> Focus on the purpose of contributing to positive change that impacts children\u2019s and families\u2019 outcomes, leading and motivating others to do similar.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Together, these values create the foundation for adapting to change and driving continuous improvements.
