As part of this proposal, a new catchment area would be defined for the proposed new school and a new catchment area for the proposed associated secondary school. The catchment areas of schools in the locality would also be changed as a result of the proposal.<\/p>\n<p>As part of Glasgow\u2019s ambitions to regenerate the Gorbals\/Tradeston\/Laurieston and Govanhill areas of the city, a significant amount of new housing has been constructed in these neighbourhoods.\u00a0 As a result of this, a number of schools have experienced increasing rolls, and steps have had to be taken to ensure that there was sufficient capacity for catchment area children.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Council is embarking on a strategy of re-populating the city centre in line with its \u201cCity Centre Living Strategy\u201d and as such, there will be a requirement to provide a bespoke education provision for families wishing to relocate to the southern end of the city centre.<\/p>\n<p>The full consultation <a href=\"http:\/\/www.glasgow.gov.uk\/schoolconsultations\">document and information on how to<\/a> respond to the consultation are available at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.glasgow.gov.uk\/schoolconsultations\">www.glasgow.gov.uk\/schoolconsultations.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We will read and consider every submission.
