  1. Don’t forget when choosing a topic try to avoid topics that the examiner will of read a thousand times such as:
    animal testing, euathanasia and the death penalty.

    Try to choose something different that you have a genuine interest in and then you will enjoy the research more and this will come out in your writing.

    Look at the Guardian’s free website of opinion pieces to give yourself ideas as to what to write about. Remember that this is kind of writing is also the sort of writing you will be asked to analyse in the exam so get into the habit of reading these kind of articles to devlop your close reading skills and also to help devlop your writing sklls.
