Today P3/2 created models based on the organs in their bodies. We have been learning for STEM this term about the role our organs play in keeping us healthy and enabling us to live. They have learned a lot of facts about the heart, lungs, brain and our digestive system.
We learned where each item was located on our bodies and then made a play-dough model by applying our knowledge correctly. Have a look below!
P7 had a fantastic week at Blairvadach. We got to try out lots of new activities and overcame lots of challenges! We tried climbing, mountain biking, hill walking, the ropes course and gorge walking!! We all had to work together as a team to help each other during the activities. Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a great time but we were very tired when we got home!

We haven’t posted on our blog page in a while as we have been so busy with our learning. Have a look at our learning journey over the last couple of weeks.
Language
The boys and girls have been developing their ability to construct proper sentences by building sentences with individual words, writing about pictures, sequencing a sentence and copying it. Well done Primary 1.
We are so lucky to new ipads in school. The boys and girls were using the ipads to reinforce their ability to identify words that rime.
Olivia is so proud of herself – she completed a wordsearch for the first time on her own. She found all of the cvc words.
We were learning all about ‘prediction’ this week using the book ‘What the Ladybird Heard’ by Julia Donaldson. The boys and girls got to look at the front cover and they were using all the information from that to predict what it was the ladybird heard. Some wonderful predictions.
Maths
As part of our work on time we have been learning about the seasons. We focussed on Summer and Winter this week. The boys and girls had to sort clothes and items.
Ethan was sorting sums that were ‘true’ or ‘false’. He used his number line to check if the answer was correct or not – fantastic work Ethan.
Kayla is so happy – look at all of her sums. She used a number line to add 2 numbers together and recorded her answers on a whiteboard.

Topic – Fairyland
The children have been learning about Goldilocks and the 3 bears. They made their own split pin bears. They also sequenced the story and made their own zig zag book.

The talented Mr Bissett has written his very own book about looking after our teeth. The children in Primary 1 LOVED hearing the story and looking at the wonderful illustrations. At the end they drew their favourite character from the book.
A few of the children from Burnbrae Nursery visited the P1 classroom today to take part in a Burns Day activity. The children had great fun making their own Burns Supper plates and they even enjoyed a bit of shortbread at the end.
News
The boys and girls couldn’t wait to share their news this week…look at their wonderful pictures and some children even had a go at copying and finishing the sentence.
Maths
We are learning all about time in school just now. The children can already successfully say and order the days of the week and identify specific tasks that they do on different days of the week. Yesterday the children were learning about the importance of telling the time and where they would see time in the world around them. They worked together in groups to create collages of objects that would show time in both analogue and digital format.
Shape
The children are revisiting their work on shape – 2d and 3d shape.
Adding
In Primary 1 we are using cube and numerlines to add. We even apply our knowledge of adding to games on the computer.
Science
This term we are learning about the sun, moon, stars and planets. Yesterday we learning all about the sun.
