The talented Mr Bissett has written his very own book about looking after our teeth. The children in Primary 1 LOVED hearing the story and looking at the wonderful illustrations. At the end they drew their favourite character from the book.
A few of the children from Burnbrae Nursery visited the P1 classroom today to take part in a Burns Day activity. The children had great fun making their own Burns Supper plates and they even enjoyed a bit of shortbread at the end.
News
The boys and girls couldn’t wait to share their news this week…look at their wonderful pictures and some children even had a go at copying and finishing the sentence.
Maths
We are learning all about time in school just now. The children can already successfully say and order the days of the week and identify specific tasks that they do on different days of the week. Yesterday the children were learning about the importance of telling the time and where they would see time in the world around them. They worked together in groups to create collages of objects that would show time in both analogue and digital format.
Shape
The children are revisiting their work on shape – 2d and 3d shape.
Adding
In Primary 1 we are using cube and numerlines to add. We even apply our knowledge of adding to games on the computer.
Science
This term we are learning about the sun, moon, stars and planets. Yesterday we learning all about the sun.

In Term 3 our topic is Fairyland. The children will be helping the friendly dragon to rebuild Fairyland by completing some tasks. Keep an eye out on our blog to follow our journey rebuilding Fairyland.
It has been such a BUSY first week helping the dragon 🐉. The boys and girls helped to find the Gingerbread man before the old man, old woman or the sly fox found him.
The children received a letter form the dragon! It was very exciting…
Then the boys and girls wrote back to him…
The dragon needed help to find the Gingerbread man…
The children solved the riddles to find the clues…
Phew! We found him and he is safe…
Then the boys and girls designed their own Gingerbread men.
What a busy first week, we can’t wait to receive our next letter from the dragon 🐉.

Primary 3 have been learning about electricity in science/STEM. They have been learning to connect up a circuit using the correct components and then used these skills to design a table lamp that lights up! Throughout this task the children developed problem solving and teamwork skills in order to assemble a lamp that works.
