An inspiring Broomhill P6 pupil (far right in the photo above) is helping lead an important campaign for change with the charity Show Racism the Red Card.<\/p>\n

Launched in February 2022, \u2018Captains\u2019 is a programme organised by the charity to embed race equality and anti-racism across all schools by next term.<\/p>\n

The programme aims to ensure the voices and experiences of Scotland\u2019s ethnic minority young people are heard and will feed into the decision-making process for curricular reform.<\/p>\n

Ahead of its launch, Show Racism The Red Card received hundreds of applications to join the Captains programme. Jess was delighted to be named as one of only 40 primary and secondary pupils for the special initiative. They will use their voices and experiences of racism to help shape future changes around the curriculum and adapt education for a modern Scotland.<\/p>\n

Creative Youngster Wins National Show Racism the Red Card Creative Competition<\/strong><\/p>\n

Broomhill Primary School sent 14 creative finalists to the finals of this competition for their exceptional work on race and equality. Cal, Lily and Anna were awarded with special recognition, while Ava received first place in the film category.<\/p>\n

Glasgow University funded schools competition \u201cHow to Talk About Migration\u201d awarded P6a \u00a3300 of book vouchers for their classwork related to Onjali Rauf\u2019s The Boy At The Back Of The Class<\/em> and the on-going refugee crisis in Ukraine.<\/p>\n
