Bullying in School<\/h1>\n

Bullying is a breach of children’s rights and they need to be protected from bullying behaviour. In Broomhill Primary, we are committed to working in partnership with pupils, families and the community to challenge, address and eradicate bullying.<\/p>\n

What is bullying?
\n<\/strong>
\nBullying is both behaviour and impact. The impact is on a person\u2019s capacity to feel in control of\u00a0 \u00a0 \"\"<\/a> themselves. Bullying takes place in the context of relationships; it is behaviour that can make people feel hurt, threatened, frightened and left out. This behaviour happens face to face and online.<\/p>\n

How we deal with bullying<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our school has an An\"\"<\/a>ti-bullying Policy and Anti-bullying Charter. \u00a0This states the general strategies and procedures in place within our school and outlines the action taken to combat bullying.<\/p>\n

What we will do if your child is involved in a bullying incident<\/strong><\/p>\n

If we are satisfied a bullying incident has taken place, we will inform the parents\/carers of all children involved. We will work with parents\/carers to decide the best ways for both school and family to support the children concerned. Incidents of bullying are recorded, monitored and reviewed in line with local authority requirements<\/p>\n

What you should do if you think your child is being bullied<\/strong><\/p>\n

Contact the school and arrange to speak to\/meet one of our deputes or the headteacher. The outcome of this meeting s<\/a>hould be\u00a0mutual agreement of what investigation or action is required.<\/p>\n

What you should do if you feel nothing is being done<\/strong><\/p>\n

Contact the headteacher or one of our deputes to discuss your concerns. If you are still not happy you can raise this with our Quality Improvement Officer.<\/p>\n
