Microsoft Team video Meetings

We are currently running video meetings with a few classes using Microsoft Teams.

These are short 10/15 minute video meetings which allow pupils and teachers in small groups  to see each other, chat about how they are feeling,  and talk about their learning.  This has been really successful with our P7 groups and we are starting to invite other classes to have video meetings with their teacher. Parents will receive emails to notify them when their child’s class is starting and there will be notifications on Seesaw too.

How does my child join in their Teams meeting?

There are two ways your child can join in with their Teams meeting:

  • If they have access to a mobile, iPad or tablet device, Teams can be downloaded as an app. We don’t recommend visiting Teams on the internet using a mobile/iPad/Tablet device, the App always performs better.
  • If they have access to a laptop or PC, they can visit Teams on the internet. We recommend Google Chrome web browser as Internet explorer will not work.

Your child will need their Glow username and password to access their Team. Your teacher will send the details when they send details of your first meeting.

Please watch the videos below to find out how to access Teams using your child’s Glow log in information and then read our top tips for our Teams meetings.

Top Tips for  happy Teams Meetings!

  • Teachers will schedule meetings and inform pupils in advance what time they will start. We ask that pupils try to be on time for meetings.
  • Pupils should have their microphone off until a teacher asks them to unmute.
  • Pupils should be appropriately dressed for the day when joining video meetings.
  • Only the pupils should be visible in the video, other family members should not join in.
  • Remove distractions. Meetings work well when pupils are in a quiet space away from TVs and toys.

We hope your child enjoys connecting with their friends and teacher on Teams. Please contact the school if there are any issues with logging in to Teams and we will do our best to assist. Information will be posted to your child’s Seesaw class for dates and times.
