The Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA) recognises a school\u2019s achievement in placing the UNCRC at the heart of their school and in doing so we hope to create a safe learning environment where all our young people feel respected and valued.<\/p>\n<p>The award involves 3 stages:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bronze<\/strong>: Rights Committed<\/p>\n<p><strong>Silver<\/strong>: Rights Aware<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gold<\/strong>: Rights Respecting<\/p>\n<p>We recently gained the Bronze award and are now working well towards achieving silver by the end of the academic year.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to know more about the Rights Respecting School Award or Children\u2019s rights, you will find lots of information on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unicef.org.uk\/rights-respecting-schools\/the-rrsa\/what-is-a-rights-respecting-school\/\">UNICEF<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/education.gov.scot\/parentzone\/my-child\/what-is-my-child-entitled-to\/children-s-rights\">Education Scotland<\/a> websites. You can also follow our Rights Respecting work on twitter @BellaRRSA.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Rights Respecting School Committee\/Pupil Voice<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our committee is made up of young people, teachers, depute head teachers and our on-campus police officer but we also welcome parents on to the committee too. We meet regularly to discuss matters arising around the school, locally and globally, of which the minutes can be found below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rights based work across the school<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bellahouston Academy has many committees and groups that are committed to rights based work.
