All children are assessed both formally and informally throughout the year by the class teacher and at times, by the Senior Leadership Team. Information on this will be shared with you at Parents\u2019 Nights and through your child\u2019s online See Saw account.<\/p>\n

Your child\u2019s See Saw account is a private place for your family to share their learning journey. It will display samples of work, photographs and videos to evidence progress, including examples your child has identified that they are especially proud of.<\/p>\n

All Primary 7 children in Scotland complete a personal learning profile that will aid their transition to Secondary School.<\/p>\n<\/header>\n

Scottish National Standardised Assessments (SNSA)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Children in P1, P4 and P7\u00a0 will complete online standardised assessments in literacy and numeracy as part of everyday learning and teaching.<\/p>\n

The assessments are as inclusive as possible to accommodate the needs of children and young people who require additional support.<\/p>\n

There is no pass or fail and children and young people do not have to revise or prepare for these assessments.<\/p>\n

The main purpose of the assessments is to provide information for teachers on how well children are doing in literacy and numeracy and to help guide learning and teaching. The assessments are also designed to produce national-level information about children and young people\u2019s progress for Scottish Government. The national information covers the whole of Scotland.<\/p>\n

The Process
\n<\/strong>Members of the leadership team and class teachers will support classes to access the online assessments. P1 pupils will sit two SNSA assessments: one in literacy and one in numeracy.\u00a0 P4 and P7 pupils will take 3 SNSA assessments: one in reading, one in writing and one in numeracy.\u00a0 Each assessment will last approximately 45 minutes.\u00a0 Your child will take the assessments in their class as part of their everyday school work.<\/p>\n
