In January 2024, a team of inspectors from Education Scotland visited Ashpark Primary
\nSchool. During our visit, we talked to parents\/carers and children and worked closely with
\nthe headteacher and staff.<\/p>\n
The inspection team found the following strengths in the school\u2019s work:<\/p>\n
Teaching Learning and Assessment – Very Good<\/p>\n
Raising Attainment and Achievement – Very Good<\/p>\n
\u2022 Staff, children and families benefit from positive, supportive and respectful relationships that
\nhelp children feel safe, happy and valued as part of the Ashpark family.
\n\u2022 Led very ably by the headteacher and depute headteacher, there is a strong culture of
\nnurture and inclusion across the school. As a result, children take responsibility for their
\nlearning, contributing maturely and articulately during learning experiences.
\n\u2022 The highly-skilled staff team have developed consistent approaches to learning and
\nteaching. As a result, children engage very well with school and experience high-quality
\nlearning that meets their needs.
\n\u2022 Staff use highly aspirational strategies and approaches to raise attainment. This ensures
\nalmost all children make very strong progress over time.
\n\u2022 Senior leaders use information and data very effectively to monitor children\u2019s progress and
\nevaluate the impact of interventions and supports. This helps staff review and adapt
\napproaches to meet children\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n
The following area for improvement was identified and discussed with the headteacher and a
\nrepresentative from Glasgow City Council.<\/p>\n
\u2022 As planned, senior leaders should develop more regular opportunities for teachers to
\nengage with colleagues beyond their locality. This should continue to deepen teachers\u2019
\nunderstanding of standards, particularly within children\u2019s writing.<\/p>\n
