School Roll

Our school has a roll of pupils. We currently have twelve classes from Primary 1 to Primary 7. Some classes comprise of single year groups and others are composite classes.

The roll at each stage is currently:

P1
P2
P3
P4
P5
P6
P7
(As of September 2018)

Composite Classes

There are times when the distribution of children over the various stages of the school requires the formation of composite classes.  This is where children from two stages of the school come together to form one class. Primary teachers are trained to teach children in differentiated ability groups.  Consequently, composite classes, operate in the same way as single stage classes and allow children to study at their own level.

The following class size guidelines set by the Scottish Government apply:
P1 maximum 25 pupils                                   P2-3 maximum 30 pupils
P4-7 maximum 33 pupils                               Composite classes maximum 25 pupils
